The below is a list of questions frequently asked about mobile apps. If you have additional questions reach out to Show Support - click the Help Button in the lower left hand corner of your watch screen or use the Chat.
1. Where can I find the mobile app?
The mobile app is available through the iOS App Store and Google Play.
2. What can I do on the mobile app?
You’ll be able to discover and access livestreams and VIP Events hosted by your favorite artists from anywhere in the world with a simple tap of a button.
Tickets to your shows will appear in My Tickets. When it’s showtime, tap your ticket to join the event and watch from the app or reliably cast to a compatible device for a second screen experience. While casting, browse merch, or the band’s favorite charities or partners (sponsors). Invite your friends to join you in a Watch Party, or make new friends in the General Chat.
Love what you’re seeing and hearing? Browse the artist’s entire catalogue of Mandolin content on their Profile page, snag a ticket to their next show, or discover new artists like them!
3. Why is the ticket price not the same on your website and app?
The price you see in the Apple app is 15% more than the price you’ll pay on Mandolin.com, rounded up to a price ending in .99. We call this the Apple tax. So, on Mandolin.com you’ll pay $23 for a $20 ticket, but through the Apple app, you’ll end up paying $26.99 (rounded up from $26.45).
Unfortunately, if we want to be available on Apple we’ll have to play by their rules. This only applies to purchases through the Apple app.
4. Why am I not assessed the same fees when I purchase a ticket through a ticketing app like Ticketmaster or EventBrite?
Apple categorizes the Mandolin App as selling digital goods and services which will be consumed within the app. Thus, Apple requires the use of their own purchase framework to process payments and takes a percentage of all revenue collected on these digital goods. Goods and Services consumed outside the application are not subject to this requirement, including merch items and merch bundles. TicketMaster and EventBrite are considered businesses providing goods and services consumed outside the app, and are not subject to the same terms and conditions.
5. How can I Cast or Airplay the livestream?
Make sure your device is using the same wifi network as the screen to which you want to Cast or Airplay. While viewing an event in the Mandolin Mobile App, you’ll see a Cast or Airplay icon appear on the video player if your device detects available devices on the same wifi network. Tap one of those icons and select your intended Casting or Airplaying device.
6. Why can’t I buy merchandise on the app?
Merchandise is available for perusal on the app, but the purchase will be completed on the e-commerce site in which it’s located. These sites are easily navigated to by tapping the merch item in the app.
7. What if I need additional help?
If you have additional questions reach out to Show Support - you can reach support by clicking your profile on the top right-hand corner of the home screen then clicking the Frequently Asked Questions link which redirects you to help.mandolin.com. From here, you can click the question mark in the lower right-hand corner to send a chat or email message.
You can also send an email directly to help@mandolin.com.
8. Can I download the app on my tablet?
For now, the Mandolin App is not available for download on iPads or other tablets.
9. How do I log in on the mobile app?
Once you’ve downloaded the app, you’ll be prompted to create an account with Mandolin. Already have an account? Be sure to use the same credentials on the app as you use on the website. Remember -- to access your ticket, you must log in using the same email address you used to purchase that ticket.
